History Of The Byblos in Saint-Tropez: Key Dates

In 1965, the construction of the future Byblos hotel began, with its village architecture, far from the luxury hotels of the French Riviera.

It was inaugurated on May 27, 1967 in the presence of its two godmothers, Mireille Darc and Brigitte Bardot, and was named after a Lebanese village located north of Beirut.
It will be transformed and expanded throughout its history to obtain a 5th star in 2009 and the distinction of Palace in 2012.

In May 2017, the celebrates its 50th anniversary and perpetuates a tradition of luxury and warmth, it is renowned throughout the world and a must in all blogs and articles dedicated to luxury and Saint Tropez.

Famous films were also shot at the Byblos: “The Gendarme is getting married” in 1968, “The Umbrella” in 1980 with the scene of the Whale in the pool or “The Year of Jellyfish” in 1984.
